( slow burn, no upside down/powers; elevens name is just el; takes place right after they became friends but that happened sooner in the summer; hopper is el's adoptive dad; her biological dad is martin brenner who's in prison for abusing her, and her mom isn't alive; there's confusion, angst, a little fluff, lowkey slowburn and excessive gay panic )

Max has been feeling really odd around her best friend, El. She loves her more than she's ever loved anyone or anything, ever- as a friend, of course. These feelings are crushing Max to pieces, and she doesn't know what to do about it. *(Guys, they're not actually just going to be friends. They obviously like each other, they're gonna be soft lesbians, okay? Okay.) !!MAJOR S3 SPOILERS!! (This Fanfiction takes place after season three, but Eleven and Will still live in Hawkins. Hopper is still dead, as is Billy. Eleven lives with Will and Joyce.
