Reym, a young and mute pilgrim, perishes in the dunes of Saradon. A final, pallid breath escapes his mouth, as his life, along with every aspiration and every grand wish, comes to a crashing end. That is how it should have gone, though the powers that be felt it necessary to keep him bound to the mortal realm, like a puppet dancing on a string. Now in the service of his 'savior', the demonic entity Malphas, flanked by a mysterious and kindly puppet, Reym must continue on the quest he had undertaken before his untimely demise: to travel across land and sea to the holy city, the Pale Palace, and rid his body of the foul curse that haunts him. On his path he encounters trials, friends and foes, as the world peters out and it too speaks its final words. Will the countless tribulations along the way force him to grow, or will they break him altogether?
Cover-art by Yoshitaka Amano. I do not own the images or the music shown in this story, only the words. Also, considering English is not my native language, there will be some major grammatical screw-ups. Thank you for taking the time to read this brief summary, and if you decide to venture deeper into this (likely quite boring) tale, then I thank you even more deeply!
