Annalise is a eighteen-year-old girl from Australia who moves to England with her uncle to attend boarding school. Though she knows her uncle is hardly fit to care for her, she finds herself determined to make a life of her own far from home. Her first and greatest love has always been poetry, a passion inherited from her late mother. Quiet, observant, and fiercely independent, Annalise has become accustomed to keeping to herself, earning a reputation as something of a lone wolf. But when she arrives at her new boarding school and crosses paths with a beautiful woman who seems determined to see beyond her walls, Annalise begins to question whether solitude is really what she wants after all.
