Irrigation is the application of controlled amounts of water to plants at required intervals. Irrigation helps to grow agricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and through periods of but average precipitation. Irrigation additionally has different uses in crop production, together with frost protection, suppressing weed growth in grain fields and preventing soil consolidation. In distinction, agriculture that depends solely on direct precipitation is brought up as rain-fed or ground farming. Irrigation systems also are used for cooling farm animal, dirt suppression, disposal of waste material, and in mining. Irrigation is usually studied along side emptying, that is that the removal of surface and sub-surface water from a given space.

Since the past few years, farmers and agriculturalists have started recognising the benefits of coco peat as a growing medium. Recently, in the Udumalpet district of Tamil Nadu, many crops were grown using coco peat. Typically, Udumalpet is rain starved. A person visiting the place for the first time wouldn't imagine rows of vegetables growing. However, Mr. R.K Raghunandan of Green Terra has made the impossible possible.

This is a non-fiction story about our impact on agriculture, the title pretty self explanatory. I'm not expecting any support about this writing, but I couldn't care less because this is for a school project so I couldn't care less. As long as I get a good grade. Caio.
