Emma, by Jane Austen, is a novel about youthful hubris and the perils of misconstrued romance. The story takes place in the fictional village of Highbury and the surrounding estates of Hartfield, Randalls, and Donwell Abbey and involves the relationships among individuals in those locations consisting of "3 or 4 families in a country village".

Major Luke Kopper, an ex-Navy seal operator, works as a mercenary for one of the highly secret detachments of the CIA. He is called upon to conduct dangerous and covert missions worldwide and eliminate some infamous targets. Torn between his loyalty to his missions and his pursuit of a peaceful life, Luke feels that his career is pushing the limits of his mental health. While his relationship with Maya seems to bring out his vulnerabilities, he feeds his sexual desire and hunger for lust through various erotic adventures. Luke is also facing another challenge, a potential Russian infiltration within the ranks that seems to complicate things for him and his team. People around him are mysteriously dying, and someone is trying to frame him. Whom will he trust? Will Luke give in and fall in love with the one that seems to bring him peace, or will he continue to seek short-term gratifications to alleviate his pain?
