Seven-year-old Aurora has spent most of her life in the foster care system, bouncing from home to home, leaving behind a trail of anger and broken furniture. She fights everyone - other kids, foster parents, even the social workers. But when she's placed for adoption, it's not with another ordinary family. S.H.I.E.L.D. has made their decision: Aurora is now the legal responsibility of Captain America himself. Neither of them wants this. Steve, forced into the situation by S.H.I.E.L.D., is furious about being saddled with a kid he never asked for. Aurora, convinced that no one ever truly stays, refuses to trust him - or anyone. Their first meeting ends in a screaming match, and things only go downhill from there. But as much as they push each other away, neither one is allowed to leave. And when Steve gets a visit from a friend from his past, stuck together, they'll have to figure out if family is something you're born into-or something you fight for. One thing Mazzy Stark has always found peculiar is how her scraped knees always seem to heal within a few measly seconds while the other kids have scabs over their knees for several days. Her dad always says it's medicine, but Mazzy isn't so sure about that. It isn't until Mazzy is faced with a familiar metal-armed man that she begins to realize that it isn't medicine that makes her the way she is; it is a little, red star and a man with a crooked smile. • ⚠️ This book has mature themes, like anything else you might see in a typical Marvel movie.⚠️ Updates set in Captain America: Civil War. James Barnes was sixteen years old when his baby sister came into the world, pink and wrinkly and screaming her little head off. And James? James was unimpressed. She was tiny-too tiny. Her hands were no bigger than his thumb, her head barely covered in a fuzz of dark hair. She cried constantly, made Ma exhausted, and stole all the attention in the apartment. And worse? She was completely useless. Couldn't walk, couldn't talk, couldn't even hold her own head up or go get groceries. He had brothers. Brothers he could roughhouse with and throw punches at. This? This little thing wasn't a sibling-she was a baby. And yet, despite all his grumbling, he still found himself staring at her when nobody was looking.

MATADOR ˗ˏˋ ✹ ˎˊ˗ EDEN was born in the cold- not just the snowbound Hydra base where she lives, but in the silence between screams, in the sterile space of loyalty and obedience. Eden had never known the world beyond orders and missions, praise and punishment. To her, Hydra was home. Being the good soldier is the only dream she was allowed to have. But dreams fade. With a soldier for a father she's never truly met and a voice in her head that never shuts up, Eden was beginning to see things- wrong things. Kindness. Doubt. Mercy. And when Eden and the Winter Soldier go on a mission where things aren't what they seemed, something in her began to splinter. She didn't know his name. She didn't know his past. But the truth was coming. [a marvel cinematic universe fanfiction.] [bucky father x childoc] pre-the winter soldier - ???
