"Sweetheart, look at me." Michael grabbed my shoulders gently and I could feel him staring at me. I finally picked my head up and saw pure sadness in his eyes. My heart broke even more. "Please don't ever say that again. Please. I will always be here. Even years from now, you will still be mine. I will put a ring on your finger. And you will have my children. I don't see that with anyone else, just you. So please don't ever say we won't work. Even if we don't, we'll be friends until we eventually work on ourselves and find our way back to each other again. I love you so much, Ariana." 1987, the year of ups and downs for Michael and Ariana. Ariana finds herself in the best predicament she could ever be in. "He knows just what it does when he's holding me tight and he calls me moonlight too..." As a little girl, I watched him light up the Apollo stage with his brothers, and as an adult I watched him light up every room he walked into. I had no idea that inside him was a darkness and sadness that stemmed from his childhood and plagued him as an adult. I had no idea the amount of loneliness he had been trapped in until I came along. I wanted to understand him in a world where he was so misunderstood. I fell in love with him when I saw him up on that Apollo stage, and I fall in love with him every time he's near. How could I get so lucky? To love the man, the mystery, that is Michael Jackson, and have him love me back. I'm his moonlight, bringing him out of his darkest days and being the only constant in the madness.
