The world was born from the balance between Painters and Writers.
Painters shaped reality with colors, forms, and the power to breathe life into images. Writers held dominion over words: stories that became destiny, contracts that could never be broken, verses that could imprison or set free.
For centuries, there was an alliance. Painters created the form; Writers gave it meaning. A symbiotic pact - until vanity turned art into a weapon.
The Great War of the Arts stained the world in gray. Ink bled into blood, and pages burned to ash. From ruin, the Paintress was born. She declared: "Only the image shall remain." And thus began the Gommage, the inevitable erasure that claimed lives year after year.
To heal the wound, a pact was forged once more. A Painter and a Writer were to be bound, as in the old days when form and word were inseparable.
From the Painters came Verso Dessendre, silent heir, whose heart had long belonged to someone who never noticed him.
From the Writers came Lyra, proud and unyielding, raised to despise everything the name Dessendre stood for.
Destiny bound their names in an arranged marriage, but it never bound their gazes. He had loved her in silence long before her first words were ever written. She would never know - not until it was far too late.
