My mother left us in the dead of night and never returned. I was just eight, and had no motherly figure left. My older brother, Ashton, did the best he could the next morning to stop me crying. And then one day, eight years later, I had the chance to go as well, with a strange girl named Miyako Zarkshire. That's the day the end of the world started...
