Billie's mom died in a car accident and her dad is in jail for theft. She's been in foster care for 4 years. She's now 18 and lives in a small apartment in New York with her dog shark. She can barely afford food to eat at night until she meets this girl that she thought she would never see again, but ends up falling in love with the person she wanted to steal from in the end.
