Continuation of The King's Dancer! Xie Lian thought he'd finally settled into his new life in WuYong with the king as his soon-to-be husband/mate. He'd expected the hurdles that lay before them, some of them at least, and he'd even thought he could be genuinely happy again after the tragedy that had hit Xian Le about a year ago. --- Arc 2/3 --- Hua Cheng had just left Guishi behind and was on the journey back home to his palace in Banyue. He'd already been excited to finally see his gege and their two children again, after having been separated for a few weeks because of his royal duties. However, a strange, rat-like creature led him astray into a deep forest, far away from his entourage. Inside this forest, he found a pagoda, which he soon realised functioned as a gate of sorts that, once he stepped through it, led him to discover more about his kingdom, as well as himself, than he'd ever hoped to learn. And to think he only wanted to reunite with his family as soon as possible... Spoilers for all 5 books!!!!

---Arc 3/3--- Dealing with the aftermath of everything left Xie Lian feeling overwhelmed, but he quickly realises that, the more things had changed, the more they stayed the same, especially in regards to his now bonded mate. Hua Cheng certainly changed a lot during his absence, but his personality and love for Xie Lian are still as steadfast and deep as they always had been. Despite the trauma their family needs to overcome, Xie Lian just knows that they will be fine eventually.
