Brian Walker, the IT guy at a small government contractor, has two problems. First, he hasn't had his morning coffee, and second, a strange voice in his head claims an alien invasion is underway. Solving the least pressing of the two should be pretty simple, but that leaves the coffee issue to deal with! Still, what if that voice is telling the truth? Brian's lunch buddy, Dale, thinks so-but then, he also thinks the government has been putting mind control drugs in the water supply. After deciding to trust the voice in his head, all he needs is a first-rate team to face off against the aliens. He ends up with a Princess Bride fanatic (with eyes for him), a conspiracy theorist, and a cosplayer. Follow Brian and his ill-equipped band of office workers, as they try to save the world from well-meaning aliens that have finally lost patience waiting for the human race to kill itself off.

~"You don't know me." I snap. "Sure, I don't. We've only spent more than half of our lives together. But I don't know you. Like at all, I don't." He says sarcastically, making me stand up from my chair and stand in front of him with crossed arms. He keeps seated on my bed, looking just as angry as myself. I study his face for a really short second and internally groan. Puberty did really hit him good. ~ · Why would Hades think that after two years of not seeing Emma and not answering her calls, she would still be the same? How could he expect her to still be that weak little girl that depended on him? No, Emma has changed into somebody he has yet to discover. Two years ago, these two had their biggest fight. Best friends should get over it and move on, right? But what if there was no way they could talk it out, due to an unpleasant misunderstanding? Two years of not hearing shit from each other. Two years of being separated...and that after a bad argument. Both too stubborn to talk about it. But wouldn't it be so easy to finally sit down and talk? Even after what they did at Julie's first party of the new school year? I mean, they could still act like it didn't happen, since they have both been drunk. Yet they remember and decide it would be best to just avoid each other. Well, they seem to do a really bad job.

Her opportunity comes in the form of Will, a wealthy ex-soldier with a dark past. SEQUEL TO:- "THE BETA'S UNWANTED MATE CANNOT be read as a stand alone. You have to have read THE BETA'S UNWANTED MATE including chapters 2.00, 2.01, 2.03 and 2.04 (that are within the same book). --- "I can't believe you could do this to me," he said, shaking his head, his eyes filled with so many emotions that made my heart squeeze with pain and agony. "How could you..." he whispered, "After all those years I looked for my mate. After all those years I fought with the world for you..." His eyes were filling up with tears and by this point, I was in so much of pain that someone could claw my heart out of my chest, and I won't feel it. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to..." I pleaded, my voice showing my desperation and my actions expressing how sorry I was. "You're not sorry. You probably still don't believe me," he said, shaking his head, looking away from me. "I trust you." I said, softly. Moving towards him. "But you're still with her too." He said, his voice turning dark and bitter. "You can't have it both way, Rosalita. It's either her or me." "But-" I started, but he cut me off. "No." He said, "I don't want any excuses." "She lies to you, Rosalita. Don't you see? She used you. She played with your feelings." He said, provoking me, in a loud voice. A chill ran down my spine and a bitter feeling filled my heart as I heard his words. I didn't need a reminder. "She's still my friend though." I said, sounding weak to my own ears. But I couldn't leave her. Especially not at this point. He sighed, tired of me. "Look, I don't know what to say, I don't know what to do if you have decided to act blind like this. I didn't want to do this ..but now I'll have to," he looked at me in my eyes with an icy expression. "Do you want me to forgive you?" He asked. "Of course." I answered, in a heartbeat. "Alright, then prove me that you are with me and not with her anymore. Kill my biggest enemy Olivia Hart for me."

book one of the ambivalence trilogy I look at him. "I don't want to kill anyone either. Trust me. But I'd do it if it would make you feel better." He pulls me to a stop near the railing of the chasm. The Pit's glass ceiling is letting through rays of dusk, with mesmerizing rays of oranges and pinks lighting up the otherwise blackened stone. I can't focus on anything else though; Peter's eyes are too intense. They're like green lasers burning into my cerulean sea irises, like the sun reaching through a lens to start a fire. "Jax." I tear my eyes away. "Four told me you heard," I blurt out. "What I said in my fear landscape." "I did," Peter confirms. I squeeze my eyes shut and wait for the storm to pass. "Why do you seem so scared? Do I scare you, Jax?" "No," I breathe. ||all rights go to Veronica Roth for the divergent series, with the exception of a few characters|| Highest rankings: #1 in #candor, #4 in #four, #1 in #veronicaroth, #2 in #hayes, #4 in #factions, #5 in #trisprior
