Samantha Henderson is the opposite of popular, she's always off somewhere in the corner with her nose buried in a book. Her brother makes fun of her but, he's equally as lame. Sammy has also been best friends with Nancy Wheeler since childhood but, when she starts to get involved with Steve Harrington they begin o drift apart. Nancy secures Barb and Sammy invites to Steves house party but Sammy is reluctant to attend. Halfway through the event, everyone seems to separate off and instead of just hanging out with Barb like any good friends would do, Sammy decides to just walk home.
