Riveroak Preparatory is a prestigious school for the gifted and elite. Students from across the country flock to this exclusive school to better their lives and prepare them for the next step. Like any high school, it has its cliques, and ruling at the top was none other than Victoria Caldwell who went missing the middle of junior year. With the second semester looming, transfer student Elena Ramos comes in ready for a fresh start, but when the body of Victoria is found by the bay of the elite preparatory school her smooth transition seems less likely to happen. Especially because she's living in Victoria's old dorm. As Elena begins to investigate the murder she realizes that this elite school might not be all it is cracked up to be. Secrets will be brought to light, lies will be exposed, and the skeletons of Riveroak Prep are bound to come out of the closet. It started with software. The kind that would ensure you live forever. A miracle microchip they install in your brain, promising eternal life. Only, instead of having extended lifespans, people died and their corpses clawed their way back out of the ground. But they weren't the same. Their humanity was gone and in its place was a ruthless instinct to kill. Jaelynn 'Jae' Moore lost everything during The Rise. Now, forced to tag along with a group that call themselves The Lost, she has had to do unspeakable things to stay alive. Elias Zhou is torn between his allegiance to his family and his disgust at The Pride's practices. When Jae crosses his path, his integrity will be tested and his loyalty pushed to its limits. As war brews between the survivors, and the number of the Risen multiplies, it's up to them to unite the remains of humanity. But, sometimes the monsters aren't the ones that should be feared and Jae and Elias will find out the hard way that you don't need to die to become a ruthless killer. You just need to be desperate enough. [Featured on @fright and @newlywrittenbooks] [Featured on @StoriesUndiscovered March2021] [Winner of the Writer's Recognition Awards 2021]

"History is a survivor's tale. It knows no villains. Only failures." A decade ago, Leudora had her major enemies eliminated - the scientist known as the Dalmatian Serpent, and his followers, who sought her people's blood. A ruthless guardian of her kin and an unscrupulous politician, Leudora lived with her guilty conscience for as long as the invisible barrier that shields civilization from madness remained intact. But it is no longer so. When the Veil starts to fade, slowly poisoning the air and endangering those whom she once sought to protect, Leudora wants answers. She does not expect it when the answers confirm the Dalmatian Serpent's theories: Leudora's own people, conducting bloody experiments to protect themselves from their powerful neighbors, are causing the Veil's degradation. If this gets out, not only the guilty, but all her people will be blamed. Trying to prevent a war and stop the Veil's decay, Leudora turns to her enemy's research. The deeper she delves into the Dalmatian Serpent's secrets, the more Leudora finds herself drawn to his fascinating mind and dark science. If she follows in his footsteps, all her kin will turn against her. If Leudora stays loyal to her people, she will have to side with those who may bring them all to the verge of extinction. ------------------- Welcome to the first version of my work that I published on Wattpad. The Story of the Basilisk and the Serpent is complete. However, the great game will continue in "The Noblest Shroud", the second part of the trilogy. Trigger Warnings: questionable morals, angst, mild gore, occasional violence. That should cover it. If you don't mind these aspects, you will (most likely) enjoy reading my work. The new magnificent cover is created by @lavendareyes, a graphic designer and an author, whose creative work deserves all attention and praise.

The Emperor reigns supreme, or so he wanted everyone to believe. But cracks, some ancient and others new, threaten to destabilize the Empire. Despite the abuse he suffered at the hands of the Crown Prince, Jun had never considered rebelling against the Emperor until he saw something he shouldn't have seen. In the darkness, he made a choice that would forever change his destiny. Running seemed the best option, but perhaps he should have chosen death. Bolin was teacher Oyun's Hand of Fate and would do anything the banished clan leader asked. His mission seemed simple. Kill the heir, give the young lord a choice, and return to his teacher. But escaping with Jun through the vast Empire from the Imperial Academy to Oyun's sanctuary proved more complicated than either man could have predicted. Author's note: I appreciate all comments and will read them all though I don't often respond. Thank you for your time!
