Sakura lebte in einem kleinem Dorf nahe eines Berges. Ihr Nachbar war kein anderer als Giyu Tomioka mit dem sie sich gut verstand. Seine Schwester Tsutako mochte Sakura wie ihre eigene Schwester jedoch änderte eine Nacht ihr ganzes Leben. Ein Demon schlich sich mitten in der Nach in das Haus der Familie Tomioka. Der Lärm konnte Sakura nicht davon abhalten nach zu sehen und erblickte den toten Körper des Mädchens. Aus Angst auch Giyu zu verlieren versuchte sie ihrem Freund zu helfen welcher gar nicht damit einverstanden war. Doch Sakura musste für ihren Fehler büssen, denn der Demon hatte es auf sie abgesehen und griff sie ebenfalls an. Giyu war wie versteinert und musste mit ansehen und hören wie zwei seiner liebsten Menschen starben und sich so auf den Weg machte einen Demon Slayer zu werden. Was Giyu allerdings nicht gewusst hatte war, dass Sakura gerettet wurde. Gerettet von einer Säule welcher stehts eine rote Maske trug. Er nahm das Mädchen zu seinem zu Hause, bildete sie aus und brachte ihr alles bei was er konnte. Als seine Zeit als Säule zu ende ging nahm Kagaya das Mädchen in seine Hshira auf welche verborgen bleiben sollte. Niemand sollte wissen, dass es zehn Säulen gab als Schutz für jeden seiner Kinder. Wird Giyu seine Freundin eines Tages wieder sehen? Kann er seine aufgebaute Distanz zu allen Menschen aufrecht erhalten?
