They said it softly at first.
'Plainly Targaryen."
A murmur behind jewelled hands. A knowing glance across candlelit corridors. The same verdict passed from servant to lord as the silver-haired princes tore through the halls of the Red Keep like sparks leaping from a flame.
They said it again when the third child was laid upon Rhaenyra's breast-before the sheets had cooled, before the bells could toll. No hesitation. No doubt.
These were not rumours made of shadow.
These were children of fire and blood.
Each boy bore the unmistakable mark of Old Valyria: silver-gold hair, violet eyes, the sharp, cruel beauty of dragon-lords. They looked nothing like whispers suggested they should.
And everyone noticed.
The court did not speak openly. It never does. Instead, it watched. It calculated. It counted moons and measured absences. It remembered the prince returned to King's Landing under cover of night and the princess never truly stopped burning for him.
Because if the realm believes Laenor Velaryon fathered Rhaenyra's sons...
