Because, he didn't even know she existed until a few days after Emily's fifteenth birthday. Up until seeing her birth certificate, she had no idea she had a hyphened name, let alone that the extra name after the hyphen was 'Stark'. When she was little, Emily was hit with a large blast of energy when she was out in New York City with her mother. Miraculously, this didn't hurt Emily. A few days later she came to realize that this blast gave her the ability to create force fields. Emily uses them sparingly, most of the time to get people out of her way when she's having sensory issues, she's anxious, or when she's mad at someone. Essentially, giving her a small, slightly soundproofed, personal bubble. An artistically athletic girl with impeccable smarts, having to get to know her father 15 years later. What could go wrong?
