NeverIsTheEnd
This is the story of Shay - a quiet, distant boy who lives alone on Route 210, just outside of Celestic Town.
Life hasn't been kind to him. His father left years ago to a faraway region called Aevium and never came back. His mother is a mystery - not raising him, not present - and whatever happened between her and the people in town has left a mark on Shay's reputation. Most don't talk to him. Some avoid him altogether. He's grown up hearing whispers and feeling the weight of being treated like an outsider.
But despite everything, Shay holds on to one dream: to become a Pokémon Champion. Not for fame or praise, but to prove to himself - and maybe the world - that he's not just the kid with a troubled past. That he can be something more.
When he finally works up the courage to visit Professor Rowan and request his first Pokémon, Shay is turned away. Not because he failed a test or lacked potential, but because of his family's past. Because of his mother. The rejection hits hard. For a moment, it feels like the dream is over before it even began.
Then, something unexpected happens.
While walking the fields of Route 210, Shay encounters a mysterious Pokémon - injured, masked, and unlike anything he's ever seen. Its eyes are wary, like it doesn't trust anyone. In that way, it's just like Shay.
He doesn't know what this Pokémon is, or why it appeared to him. But in that moment, it becomes clear: Shay wasn't meant to start his journey like everyone else. He wasn't handed a partner. He found one - a Pokémon with its own pain, its own secrets, and maybe its own reasons to fight.
Together, they step into a world that hasn't been fair to either of them. And maybe that's the point.
This is a story about starting from nothing. About finding connection where no one else would look. About a boy and a Pokémon both searching for their place in the world - and refusing to give up until they find it.
