This follows the base story of The Last of us, with a new character added in. *** All it takes is one. One mistake, one missed watched, and one infected. All it took was one infected to destroy the town in which (Y/N) used to call his home. Raised as the first and oldest child of the safe village, (Y/N) was trained to be the leader of the next generation. However, life had different plans when the village was attacked and destroyed, all of the training was wasted. Luckily he was saved by the only other villager to make it out alive, a woman named Jen. Years later, at the age of 13, an accident occurs while on a scavenging mission, resulting in (Y/N) finding out something he never knew. Before (Y/N) was forced to ride solo, he was told that two people in Boston may be able to help him, but he wasn't expecting a journey when he saved three people from a soldier. Book 1

Ellie found traveling with Joel to be both rewarding and simultaneously frustrating. It was like talking to a cold, emotionless brick wall sometimes. So imagine her excitement when they run into another group of travelers heading in the same direction, and they agree to travel with Ellie and Joel. The most exciting part? The other group has a girl their age. This is essentially a Ellie/Reader slow-burn fanfiction. It's also a fix-it fic in regards to the Last of Us Part 2 because I have personal issues with it. Will involve spoilers for both games, but this is mostly a self-indulgent fic. The reader is unnamed and has no descriptors so pretty much anyone can be the reader. The reader has established parents that are involved in the plot.
