Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy really couldn't have picked a worse day to come to Central City for a tour of their prestigious university. Because today is the day when a black hole threatens to devour not only the city, but potentially the whole world as well. Of course, the day will be saved by not only The Flash, but Spider-Man as well - and soon, more equally cool heroes join forces with them. But what other unexpected effects will the black hole cause? For Ana, it felt like a switch had been turned on inside her. She could sense freedom, imagine possibilities she hadn't thought possible. She wants to leave her caregivers, and when she does, she wants to take Evan with her. In fact, she must take Evan, because he is the only one who can show her the way to The Place - the only place she can recall ever feeling completely happy. ... In a world that bleeds with environmental disasters, genetic mutations become more common - some genes get lost and other, silent genes get turned on. Nature offers infinite possibilities to ensure life continues through genetic codes that struggle to survive, unheard and often unnoticed. It is a battle where dominant, aggressive genes best suited to the environment will succeed. Both Ana and Evan have been labelled with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - a genetic disorder, affected by the environment. It is a world wide condition, knowing no boundaries and increasing rapidly. Since disabilities such as ASD are triggered by our changing environment, and since these disabilities are rapidly changing and increasing in frequency, it is entirely possible that the ideal "disability" could give some humans an evolutionary advantage over other humans. ... Imagine having a disability so severe you need 24 hour care. Imagine wanting to leave your home and caregivers to live in the one place you feel at peace. Imagine discovering you have abilities far beyond the norm. Imagine finding other people with similar abilities and disabilities, willing to risk everything to follow you. Imagine freedom. Ana did.

Thanks for reading "This Week in Literary History" but this is the end of the line. The past year has been filled with enlightening and insightful literary stories. Please enjoy the archives. Check out my other on going blog under the mature filter "This Week in Crime History." Why are we captivated with the lives, deaths, and burial places of famous people? Perhaps, it is the lifestyle, or maybe the promise of immortality, which serves as the incentive. Is it that their joys, loves, triumphs, defeats, last moments, and final resting places, all encompass a life we do not have? Ever wonder how and why the classic novels, poems and plays of world literature came about? In Michael Thomas Barry’s award winning Literary Legends of the British Isles and America's Literary Legends, the reader is taken on a journey into the best of English and American literature in concise reviews of the lives of some of the greatest writers and poets in history. Learn how these distinctive individuals helped shape literature from the late-medieval period through the mid-twentieth century. These anthology's take a fresh approach literary history and through brief and engaging biographies the great writers come alive. If you can’t wait and want the whole story. These books can be purchased directly from Schiffer Publishing, Barnes and Noble, Powell's Books, Amazon and other fine book sellers. A collection of paranormal, horror and fantasy short stories woven around old legends, odd characters, the occasional werewolf and the darkness within, some of which have been published or picked up the odd award. There are things you cannot see unless they want to be seen, and some legends linger on despite the modern world. A Gift in the Dark is a compilation of short works, many based around old myths and legends, and starts with a tale of a miner's descent into madness, history and legend, drifts through darkness, past a retelling of Red Riding Hood, up a crane, and along to the end of the world.
