"Tesoro, forse se glielo chiedi, Sherlock ti aiuterà a trovare Hoppy. E' davvero bravo a trovare le cose scomparse sai?" Disse John, dandole un bacio sulla testa. "Davvero sei bravo?" Chiese Rosie, tirandogli la cravatta. "Il più bravo di tutti." Ammise Sherlock. "Allora puoi trovare Hoppy? Per favore pap..." La piccola si bloccò. "Io non sono..." Sussurrò lui, spostando lo sguardo verso il camino, senza riuscire a finire la frase. Non ne avevano mai parlato, non ufficialmente almeno. Ma Rosie dopotutto, era cresciuta con entrambi. Quello che più odiava Sherlock, era che pur sapendo interpretare le persone e le loro emozioni, non era in grado di fare niente per farle stare meglio. Però c'era una cosa che poteva fare, almeno in quella occasione, per farli felici entrambi. "E va bene, troverò Hoppy." Disse alla fine, con un mezzo sorriso. "Sii!" Urlò Rosie, saltandogli in braccio. John sorrise. Era uno di quei sorrisi caldi e sinceri, che Sherlock amava. Per quanto lo indispettisse ammetterlo, quando John lo guardava in quel modo, con gli occhi che brillavano, lo faceva sentire bene. Più che bene, in realtà. "Bene, andiamo allora, il gioco è..." Disse guardando Rosie, con l'aria complice. "Iniziato!" Urlò lei.
