Get out your popcorn, tourists beware, here comes a paranormal adventure with a historical twist, set in Egypt--and Britain. From Chapter 29 'Darkness': 'Did I just try to dive into that goo to get at a dead guy?' Trueth asked. Define dead,' Metjen said with a half-smile. He muttered something and touched Trueth on the forehead. The rest of her giddiness faded away--only to return as Metjen crushed her in one of his bearhugs. 'For a moment I thought we would lose you. Don't do that again.' Trueth's cheeks burned. That could only be the caffeine. The stuff had never agreed with her. 'It wasn't my idea, there was a voice in my head!' *** Trueth hates being the last paranormal creature left on Earth. She needn't worry: On a trip to Egypt she runs into Metjen Al-Nour, magical member in the last temple of the sun god Ra. With sparks flying between them--not only those of the magical variety--they solve a 5000-year-old riddle where clues are literally buried in tombs, historical sites--as well as in the family safe. But their journey is far from over - where other stories end, this one really takes off... . The second novel in the trilogy, 'Cursed Times - Only Yesterday!', is completed, and 'In My Attic' - a spin-off to the world of Cursed Times is available with weekly updates. === Copyright information, given the recent acts of content piracy: All copyrights of the texts are mine exclusively. A few months before her fifteenth birthday, Amanda Cunningham watched in shock as the local news station reported the death of her best friend's father. Three people with three different perspectives live through the First Crusade siege of Nicaea. Submission for Historical Fiction Spring 2013 Smackdown, Round 2. For this round, we had to write a story set during the Crusades, using 4 of 8 pictures and 3 of nine quotes. Words: 4291 Time Period: First Crusade Pictures: 4 (blond boy with a letter), 5 (Hobbits - I mean travellers - in a mountain pass), 8 (A young woman defending the walls of her city through the power of awesomeness), 11 (a fight in a square - specifically, that square down the street from Rick's Cafe Americain in 'Casablanca', the one Ugarte dies in) Quotes: 2. “Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.” 3. “A sure death, zero chance on success. What are we waiting for?” 6. "You're afraid of what might happen, but I'm afraid of what is happening."

A second collection of short urban fantasy stories based on a simple idea. What if all is not as it seems in our world? If you like anarchist faeries then this has the story for you. What happens when a pudding is possessed? Who knows what the future will bring? I certainly don't and that's the fun of writing from a one sentence idea. I had to start a second collection since the first was closed for new updates after entering it in the Wattys 2014. I thought I only entered one story but the whole lot went. There's a lesson to us all. Ho hum! If you want to read the story I liked then go to the first Fantasy in the City and check out 7 Tintagel Close.
