eleven has to be adopted. mike and eleven decided it would be better if eleven got adopted by another family, so they could be together. an unknown hawkins habitant filled in the adoption forms instead. when mike sees eleven in the halls at school, he senses something isn't right. he thinks she is hiding something, but eleven wouldn't lie to him, would she?

It's been five years since Will was rescued from the Upside Down. More importantly to Michael Wheeler, it's been five years since Eleven disappeared. Ask anyone and they'll tell you Mike was never the same after El left. He became depressed and sad, and after a while he faded away from the group.
