After Arthur's death, merlin has to wait for his reincarnation because the destiny was unfulfilled. He is immortal until Arthur comes again. Out of the ruins of Camelot, he built a school he called hogwarts along with his cofounders: Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor. He built what he remembered of Camelot into the school, such as Gius' place and Arthur's room. Merlin also built extra rooms like the room of requirement and built his own home in there. It all started after Camelot fell after Queen Gwens' reign and after Merlin left. Old religion was remembered as old magic and over time only Merlin used it, and it was also known as wandless magic. What the wizards and witches used today is known to Merlin as new magic. The druids died out after Camelot fell, and so only Merlin was left. It was after Voldemort was defeated by Harry and Dumbledore was killed. Professor McGonagall took over as headmaster and taught that she decided to search for a new headmaster that merlin was found by the most unlikely of people.

A Merthur fic set in canon era. After two years of putting up with his useless excuse for a manservant, Arthur begins to suspect that there may be more to Merlin than meets the eye. But Merlin's not the only one with a secret. And maybe destinies aren't always as they seem. AU where I use elements of all five seasons in a way that does not always comply with canon. Merlin and Arthur finally admit their love to each other! But after a drink-filled night out, Arthur does something that Merlin could not forgive. Hi! He only heard a faint bump when he should have heard something a lot louder. Merlin's fears from the previous day came true as he sat there in bed trying to process it. The ringing had gone, but he still couldn't hear anything. OR Merlin gets injured in a fight and is rendered temporarily deaf. He doesn't want Arthur to find out, but he does anyway. Angst and hurt/comfort ahead.

Merlin and Gwen meet in the forest while Merlin is heading for Camelot. Merlin not knowing his destiny yet gets a small crush on the prince. Better yet Arthur becomes obsessed with Merlin. Gwen and Morgana watch on the sidelines having a romance of their own.

Arthur had always thought that he was lucky like he had some sort of guardian angel. He never thought that the guardian angel watching over him was his clumsy oaf of a servant, Merlin.
