Julie decides to go to college despite wanting to take a year off after her mom's death, and she's alone and anxious with her undeclared major lingering in her mind. It's not until she's assigned a group project with three boys that she realizes she never made a mistake in leaving home, despite one of them being a grouch with underlying mommy issues. Luke and Julie's tense relationship keeps them 50% cautious and 50% creative despite them being 100% attracted to each other. It's through the never ending blows delivered by their college's 10 week quarter system that they're able to find moments where they can jam, pretend to study in the library, and trauma bond on the roof of a school's parking structure like any other college students. CW: Underaged drinking. Some cussing I believe?

Luke is determined to breeze through his senior year and onto mega stardom (which means avoiding school, and Principal Lessa, as much as possible). That is until he's forced to work side-by-side with quiet good-girl, Julie Molina, on the big end-of-the-year talent show. The two struggle to see eye to eye, and meeting the all-important deadline seems impossible until something unexpected happens between them. Modern AU Juke. Christmas. It's full of joy, happiness, and shopping. It's known as the greatest time of the year, right? Not for her. Julie Molina has made it her life's work to have nothing to do with the treacherous holiday. No lights, no tree, no gifts, none of that for her. The holiday season just leaves her in a downright mood. Luke Patterson, the bubbly brunette, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. His house has won 'Christmas Decorations of the Year' for 10 straight years. He's all about the trees, lights, and gifts. Paired together for an English project, these two seem like a recipe for disaster. One thing leads to another and Luke knows Julie's secret - the reason why she hates the holidays. Watch as they change each other, for better or worse.

After an alarming incident, Julie's dad (the King), assigned her and Carlos each a knight to keep them safe for the first time in their lives. Carlos is fine with it, but Julie is not exactly thrilled with having a strange brooding boy follow her everywhere- especially when she's still trying to find her place in the kingdom after the death of her mom. It's not easy to figure out who you are and pick up pieces of who you were when someone is breathing down your neck, and she makes sure Luke and her dad (the King) know how how she feels. Her dad (the King), won't budge and lets Luke keep his post despite all of Julie's efforts to get him sent away. Although this creates a definitive tension between them, there is no denying that some people are just signs sent from those who have left us. #1 in #Juke on 8/10/21 #1 in #JulieMolina on 11/9/22
