Izuku was waiting for his 16th B-Day to finally find someone to share his pain and maybe someone who can save him from himself. Overhaul has always been a loner & couldn't care less about finding his soulmate. Because of Overhaul's desire to erase all quirks, he kidnapped someone to experiment on.
