Merlin tułał się po świecie przez wiele lat, doskonale zdając sobie sprawę z tego, że Albion przepadł razem ze śmiercią Artura. W pewnym momencie nawet udało mu się z tym pogodzić. Ba, zaczął nawet powoli zapominać, kim był i kogo znał. Tak przynajmniej mu się wydawało do dnia, gdy na jego posterunku pojawił się pewien wybitnie oszołomiony blondyn.

Opowiadanie przedstawia życie Arthura i Merlina w świecie alternatywnym, gdzie Mordred zginął, a przeznaczenie młodego czarodzieja wciąż się wypełnia. Niektóre fakty z serialu zostały zmienione i raczej wyraźnie to zaznaczam. Akcja toczy się jakiś czas po egzekucji młodego druida Mordreda i większość wydarzeń, które w serialu działy się do tego czasu, wydarzyła się również w moim opowiadaniu.
