Percy just figured out a way to travel by liquid, and Annabeth was afraid that he would end up somewhere foreign (China, for example) like Nico when he first shadow traveled. So of course, to prevent Percy from doing anything stupid like that, decided to travel with him, asking her mother to make it feel like she was no package to Percy when traveling through the liquids.
