15 year old Andie and her thirteen year old brother Luke Finch are stranded alone to wherever the night takes them. 6 months after the apocalypse has began, autumn starts rolling around. It is beginning to get cooler outside and the adolescents need to find shelter instead of sleeping outside in the woods. After losing everything they've known, they're all alone in the darkness with the dead walking among them. Food is becoming scarce, and they're basing their survival on pure luck. With being forced to kill and steal to survive, they think being eaten alive by the undead is their biggest worry. Soon, however, they will learn how petrifying the living is when it comes to survival.
