A story of a city in Japan destroyed by a science experiment gone wrong letting out a blast of energy killing people, but also giving people powers. This book tells the story of the main character Kiyoshi Saito, a kid bored with his city now wants it back.

The city of Yakusoku is being ripped apart by a science experiment gone wrong, residents die or are gifted extraordinary abilities. Yukio grew up homeless in Yakusoku and can't remember who his family is. This book contradicts the first book, instead of showing a kid growing in Yakusoku in middle class, it shows the story of someone growing up truly alone and fending for his life.

This book tells the story of rich suburbs kid Asahi Hayashi. He grew with everything handed to him delivered in a gold plated helicopter and on a silver platter. But he doesn't like this life story.

After the explosion in Yakusoku killing many of it's citizens Daichi Watanabe, a boy consumed by rage after his father was paralyzed after a mugging incident, struggles through controlling his newfound power. Containing an absolute beast inside of him.

Asahi after finding his sister dead grows suspicion that an ice user has something to do with her death, and wants his revenge. He searches the wasteland of Yakusoku to find an ice user, and he does. Yukio.

Asahi finds Yukio, and refuses to reason. Despite Yukio telling him that he didn't kill his sister, he doesn't give in and blames this on him. Kiyoshi joins the fight seeing Asahi being brutally attacked by Yukio and being the hero he is, he decides to come in and stop the quarrel.

Yukio and Asahi power up leaving Kiyoshi facing against the combination of a slow cold death and an ever burning flame. And now, a new challenger.

Daichi joins the battle between Asahi, Yukio, and Kiyoshi. However, another visitor decides to interrupt this legendary battle yet again. Except this time, with more murderous intent than anyone else on the battlefield.
