Atharva ran, his heart pounding, the station looming closer. She was just ahead, a shadow against the dimming light. He called out, desperation thick in his voice, but before he could reach her, Ansh stepped in front of him, blocking his path. "Move, Ansh!" Atharva's voice trembled with urgency. She stood there, still, her back to him, but he could see the sorrow in her posture. She turned slightly, her eyes meeting his-full of pain, full of things left unsaid. Then she turned away, heading toward the station. "No, please!" Atharva's voice broke, but Ansh's grip was firm. "Ansh, I messed up. I should've talked to you first, but if my father knew about her, about me and her , he would've-" Ansh's hand shot out, grabbing Atharva by the collar. "He would've ruined her, right? Or is it you you're worried about? Your career, your image?" Ansh's eyes were cold, cutting through Atharva's defenses. Atharva's breath caught. "I know I was selfish, but I love her, Ansh. She's pregnant-I need to tell her I'm here, that I'll leave everything behind for her and the baby." Ansh's face hardened, his grip tightening. "Too late, Atharva. She didn't want the child." The words hit Atharva like a punch to the gut. "No," he whispered, his voice cracking. "She wouldn't..." Ansh's gaze didn't waver. "She did. Now let her go. Let her live, and you do the same." He released Atharva, who staggered back, his world crumbling around him. Ansh walked away, leaving Atharva in the suffocating silence of his own making. © 2024 [Oly V99]. All rights reserved. "If the world had only you, it would be enough, until it wasn't" -Anwar Hussein Hakimi. "Racing the limits, until I'm no more" -Karima Aliyu Arqam. *** The closest you can get to the definition of a perfect life is probably Anwar Hakimi's life. His wife was lovely, his children adorable, and his life content. When fate catapulted Karima Aliyu into his life, he had the best plan; provide for her, and that's it. He saw her as nothing but the little sister in their family gang. Until-one stolen kiss at a time-she wasn't. *** Karima stopped expecting much from life since her father denied her cousin sister's involvement in theft, yet said it was something she could do. Her life wasn't exactly rocky, at least not materially. She had her siblings and her family gang, so things really weren't complicated. Until she had to marry Anwar, one of her best friends' husbands, then all hell broke loose. *** This is a work of fiction, I don't push or support any ideas or opinions of the characters in the book, all pictures belong to their respective sources.

A flashback hit her mind - her Nani's wise words: "Bewakoof ladki, aisi dua nahi mangte jisse baad mein pachtawa." (Foolish girl, don't make such prayers that you'll regret later.) Nadia's Nani had warned her about the dua she made in childhood, but she hadn't listened. Now, Nadia regretted her ignorance. She wished she had heeded Nani's words, had been more thoughtful about her prayers. "Why didn't I listen, Nani?" she whispered, feeling a pang of regret. Her tears fell onto the prayer mat as she begged Allah to change her destiny. "Please, Ya Allah, cancel my dua. I don't want to share my husband with anyone." Nadia's voice was barely audible, lost in her sorrow and desperation. Story of two friends nadiya and manahil who loved each dearly and can't live without each other .
