After the events of Sonic Forces, Infinite flees the city in search of refuge to come to terms with his defeat. Unknowingly and completely by chance, he stumbles upon a seemingly deserted town on the outskirts of the land, a town with mobians' like himself; Jackals. When he ventured into the town, he is almost immediately recognised - not because of the terror he gave on the world, but because he was the leader of the most famous mercenary squad in the world. To add to the shock, he spots a familiar red ball of fur and a bunch of Jackals surrounding him in what seemingly was the centre of the town with a tall raging fire in the middle. Infinite knew right away that this was the wolf that defeated him twice. Now, the wolf was very annoying - Infinite is aware of that, but he wasn't gonna let his kind be the death of that stupid wolf.
