"Sometimes I sit back and think 'how did I manage to catch a woman like you?' and then I remember your father arranged our marriage." Princess Kendra Baratheon had a privileged life. She lived in large castle, had pretty dresses and enjoyed long, hot baths. She didn't worry about where her next meal was coming from because they were served to her on silver trays. She didn't worry about the tax collector because she had a royal allowance. She didn't worry about the handsome and gallant soldiers of her father's Kingsguard. She was soon to be bartered off in an allegiance marriage. She also had yet to have her first moon blood and most importantly, she heard the whispers comparing her dark hair to that of her golden siblings. So being a Baratheon wasn't always so easy. Of course not every child was an exact replica of their younger brothers and sisters, and sure Kendra had the bone structure and beauty of a Lannister but she didn't have the blonde hair. To her Mother gold was the only colour that mattered. [PRE GAME OF THRONES - SEASON 1] [ONGOING] [GOT FANFIC AWARDS 2017: VOTED BEST OBERYN MARTELL FANFIC] *ALL GIFS USED ARE NOT MINE*

Sophia has sacrificed everything for her younger sister, Lucy. She has removed them from the only home they ever knew, taken on the care of Lucy's illegitimate son, George, and even assumed the role of a widow and mother in order to erase all hint of scandal from the boy's birth. But rumor continues to follow them like the darkest of clouds, and Sophia must adapt to her new existence as a false widow with no prospects beyond the doors of her small cottage. Lord Haughton - "Finn" to those close to him - will stop at nothing to prevent the slightest whiff of disgrace from tainting his family's name. When he learns of his younger brother's latest indiscretion-one that leaves a bastard child in his wake-Haughton rushes across the country to offer the boy's mother a comfortable living in exchange for her silence about the child's true parentage. But he arrives only to have his generous offer thrown back in his face by Sophia Brixton, a sharp-tongued and sharper-witted woman who proceeds to toss him out of her house. But just because he is banished from her home does not mean he is so easily banished from her life.

{WATTY'S 2020 WINNER & EDITOR'S PICK.} Hopeless romantic and aspiring writer Mare Atwood has fallen madly in love with her childhood correspondent. There's only one catch-she doesn't know who he is. When the beaus of Star's Crossing return from boarding school to begin the courting season, Mare is determined to uncover the identity of her writer, flout her family's intentions of orchestrating an advantageous marriage, and procure the life of writing and romance she's always sought. But as in the tales she so adores, it won't be easy. Galas, masquerades, picnics, and hunts-alongside an old friend, a former teacher, and an unlikely ally, Mare delves into an investigation that leaves her torn between three clever, deceptive, and wealthy young bachelors. If Mare can confirm which is her writer and claim his hand before the courting season ends, she'll have her wish: the love of her life, a valuable marriage, and a future of writing romance. But with the eyes of Star's Crossing upon her, a business plot forcing invisible hands, and the unwillingness of her writer to come forward-Mare's future may not end in triumph, but tragedy. Set against the gilded Victorian backdrop of coastal Connecticut and lush with pre-war luxury, fans of Jane Austen, Margaret Mitchell, and Louisa May Alcott are sure to enjoy this lighthearted, lyrical novel of young love, independence, and identity. #1 Literary #1 YA Romance #1 Victorian #1 Lyrical #8 General Fiction
