"Anyway.." he sighs and crawls over my lap. "What do you think you are doing?" I frown as he leans his back against the couch's handrest, and places his thighs over my lap, sitting sideways. "I'm sorry. I never really had any guy friends. Is this inappropriate?" he asks innocently. "Just don't move around," I mumble, placing my hands over his legs to keep them at one place. "So it's not inappropriate?" he asks. "It is. But I'm a better human than you, so I'll let you get away with this," I wink, tapping his nose. "No, please don't. Spank me Dylan," he says sarcastically. "Alright. How many?" I ask abandoning the Tv remote, and pulling him sideways so he was right in my lap. ....................... Read the feisty, quirky and romantic story of two stubborn individuals.

His eyes drop to my lips before his mouth descends, capturing mine in an all consuming, over powering kiss and I moan almost instantly. He captures the sound in his mouth, pressing his lips firmly against my own, possessing, teasing and coaxing more gasps from within me. I'd never felt a kiss like this before; I twist my tongue against his and hear a deep groan of approval in the back of his throat. He grabs me and pulls me into his body, pressing my chest against his own, and I take the next step by swinging my leg over and sitting astride him. I feel him sweep my hair up in a firm but gently grip, moving it from my neck to free the skin for his mouth to lower, to nip and kiss along my shoulder. **** He was supposed to be another birthday gift. The year is 1896, and Michael MacBranain is in desperate need of a job. Fortunately for him (or perhaps not-so-fortunately), the Grim Reaper is also in desperate need of an assistant! The trouble is, Michael is terribly superstitious and loathes himself for his own cowardice. But with a dark supernatural force on the loose in New York City, there may be more at stake for Michael and his employer than just job security! ~~~ A multi-part short story, serving as a prototype for the future web-serial "Mortality", the episodic adventures of the Grim Reaper and his assistant. While this story is not as well-researched or polished as I hope for the actual series to be, it does give something of an idea of what I'm going for character and story-wise. I hope you enjoy this debut~ ... (Cover art by my sibling: https://www.deviantart.com/stramberrymilkyway )

****Copyrighted**** 'Tell me you don't feel it.' He whispered against my lips, and the trembling that had ceased at the feel of his lips against mine began again with renewed vigor. 'Tell me it's not what you want, and I'll go. You'll never have to see me again.' Swallowing, I looked up at the eyes that had entranced me from the start. I took in his every feature, slowly and deliberately. I thrilled at the feeling of his arms enfolding me, and I inhaled his familiar scent with a trembling breath. And then, then I did the most foolish thing imaginable: I flung my arms about his neck and kissed him with all that I had, almost losing myself in the safety and security I felt. But more than that, I ran. I took his moment of shock, the slight loosing of his arms about me, and tore myself away from him, shoving out the door and into the rain. I suppose I'll never know why he didn't follow me. It was the thing I feared most. I knew that if he came for me a second time, I wouldn't be able to say 'no'. I wouldn't be able to run. But I had to. I had to go. I couldn't let him be hurt because of me. He would live on now, and I would marry another. I had leased my last bit of passion in that one moment in his arms, and as I made my way through the dark streets, I felt myself become dull and lost like the creatures bound in the menagerie. **Much of this was written when I was younger and then I came back later and finished it. There will likely be mistakes. Lots of them.

Brenna Caldwythe walks in the forest on her sixteenth birthday and discovers a relic. Her discovery begins a chain of events which will forever alter her purpose in life. Aederan, the world upon which she lives is threatened by unspeakable evil, which is growing in strength and power. "Listen child to the voices in the wind blowing through the grasses and the leaves, they speak of many things; the wise should listen to what they have to say. You are young and know not of the darkness, yet you sense its wicked ways. The evil is spreading through the water, the soil, and through the air, seeking to corrupt the world," Elliana said. "As a flickering flame can shine brightly in the darkness, driving back the shadows; so too, can the power of one who is pure, strong of heart, and faithful. My child, you are the one Light of Elliana and are Aederan's greatest hope. Go forth, and rally those who share your dream of finding the sanctuary, for within lays the destiny of your world." Prince Donovan Answaar, through events, finds himself guided deep into the forest. Determined friends, in the form of Morgan, Changa, Girard, among others, are found by Brenna who leads them to Donovan.
