The whirlwind romance with Jungkook had been everything you'd dreamed of - stolen moments during script-writing, late night adventures, and handwritten post-its were only the beginning. For seven months, you lived in a bubble of bliss, convinced that fairy tales could come true. But fairy tales, you're learning, have a way of unraveling. It starts with the little things you've kept hidden - like your fertility problems, and the real reason why your mother despises you. These omissions are protection, not lies. Though you're not the only one keeping secrets - Jungkook's blast from his past comes to stir up trouble, revealing a side of him you never knew, and it leaves you questioning how well you really know him. Now every shared moment feels tainted by doubt, every silence heavy with unspoken truths. The post-its have stopped appearing, and your late-night adventures have been replaced by restless hours alone, wondering if love can survive when it's built on such shaky ground. But beneath the fear and uncertainty, that magnetic pull between you remains, challenging you both to decide: is this worth risking everything for? ⋆⋆ This story is a sequel to 'All Grown Up', please make sure to read that before reading this one. ⋆⋆ ✨ genre/au: drama, romance, angst, fluff, smut | est!relationship, age gap, best friend's brother ✨ word count: 159k ⋆⋆ Started: January 31, 2022 Finished: August 23, 2023 MINORS DNI 🔞

Hasna and Aarhan have been married for four years. It wasn't love at first sight-it wasn't even love at all. An arranged marriage turned into a comfortable routine, with their two-year-old daughter Afrah filling their home with laughter. Aarhan Baig is everything Hasna expected him to be: calm, reserved, a man of few words but steady actions. He's a CEO in the world outside, but at home, he's just "Baba"-the man who gives bear hugs that swallow their daughter whole. Possessive, protective, quietly affectionate... he is hers in ways he never says out loud. Hasna, graceful and quiet to the world, hides a playful heart only Afrah ever sees. To everyone else, she is composed. To her husband, she is his niqabi wife-beautiful, the epitome of grace, and his alone. They are comfortable. They are content. But beneath that comfort lies the question they've both avoided-what does it mean to truly love each other? This is not a story of falling in love at first sight. It's the story of falling in love slowly... after the "happily ever after."

‶Get out of my sight before I do something I'll regret!″ the eldest shouted, his voice laced with fury. ‶I will. But I'm taking her with me,″ his younger brother replied, his expression unwavering. ‶Don't you dare come near her! She won't end up like you!″ the eldest retorted, his eyes ablaze with anger. Amidst their yelling match, a young girl sat under the table, her eyes overflowing with tears and head throbbing uncontrollably. Her family had always been an unconventional one, but that day marked its transition from unconventional to unhappy. ************************* Miles apart, a young boy looked at the star marred sky with twinkling eyes. Once upon a time, men and women entered marriage with very clear policies regarding the division of labour: he would go to work and "bring home the bacon," while she would stay at home and cook, clean, and raise the children. Things aren't the same as they used to be. Modern Indian romance, intimacies, and marriages are far more complicated than assessments and reality television shows portray. In India, arranged marriages are an unique and complex process. People seek a 'soulmate' with whom they can spend the rest of their lives, but they also have specific expectations of the potential bride or groom. There is a strong narrative about finding love, compatibility, and connection, but what stands out is a real intent to replicate class identities beneath all of this. In a country that depends on a spending population, "middle class" is a necessary armour, a shared language, a value system, and, more importantly, a way of life. Life may be unjust, irritating, and disarmingly disappointing on most days. Being middle class, on the other hand, creates character in a culture obsessed with the need to be a part of the rat race. Marriage also places the onus of making sacrifices, concessions, and making the marriage work on the couple. This tale illuminates the unseen and underappreciated aspects of an Indian arranged marriage, the life of a middle-class wife and husband and their shared responsibilities as they navigate through life. Immense amount of desi tadka awaiting your way. *I don't own the illustration on the poster.*
