Where is the man who is supposed to give your life meaning and save you from the torture of the outside world?" the man in the shadows paced around me as the whip in his hand moved through the air. "Where is he?" The tears in my eyes fell to my stained and bruised lap. My stringy and oily hair fell past my shoulders as I flung my head down in shame and pain. "I don't know!" "Oh, but sweet, loving, naive princess, I do," the man came into the light of the swinging lamp, "I do, and I love that I do. Do you know where he is?" His hard and calloused hands squeezed my shoulders as he forced my eyes to look at his scarred face. "He's dead. You know he is. You can't feel him anymore. But do you know the best part? Now you're mine."
