I've known Hidan for a long time before I met my demise. To me, he was just a fool who praised a god who didn't exist. He dodged kunai left and right while shielding the tiny body in his arms the best he could. "Why?" He finally asked in a broken whisper. Pain in his voice, his face but mostly his eyes. A bitter, painful smile spread on Sakura's young face. Her eight-year-old body trembling in pain. "He was going to kill you after taking your eyes. I couldn't let him do that. You're one of my special people. I promised myself I would protect you no matter what." His heart twisted in pain after hearing her reasoning, not knowing whether to be proud or angry at her for not abandoning her ninja way. "Sakura-chan... " He said with that same broken whisper and said girl, unable to keep her eyes open any longer, allowed the claws of darkness drag her into unconsciousness the same time her and her sensei's bodies were engulfed in a bright green Susanoo.
