The city of Vultus is divided into two sectors-The Condemned and The Exalted. One side lives in lavish luxury and the other fights to survive every day. Every year, The Exalted select contestants from the Condemned Sector, forcing them into brutal, haunting trials for their own entertainment. The Condemned don't know much about The Trials but they know one thing: no one ever comes back. Kaelis Veylan dedicated to his to protect his family, and above all-his sister Lina. When her name is called to participate in The Trials, he steps in her place, despite knowing he wouldn't survive. The moment he steps inside the Inferium, everything changes. He gets stripped of his past, his memories, and even his own identity; Kaelis is brainwashed like all the other 100 contestants. As the trials begin, alliances are formed, trust is formed and shattered, and the only rule is to try to survive. Kaelis and his allies must find out the truth, find out what they lost, seek the memories the Exalted stripped from them.
