He left a mark I never asked for. Now he wants to finish the piece. Amina Westbrook didn't choose motherhood. But when her younger sister dropped a baby and disappeared, Amina stepped in, raised that little girl as her own, and never looked back. Seven years later, the past comes tatted, cocky, and fine as hell, standing in the grocery store with the same hypnotic eyes her daughter sees in the mirror. Santiago Vega. Zuri's father. The man who left before he ever knew she existed. Now he wants in. He wants time. Forgiveness. A chance to be a father. And every time he shows up with that deep voice and soft smirk, Amina hates how bad she wants to let him. He's not just showing up for Zuri-he's showing up for her. Fixing things she didn't ask him to fix. Dropping money in her hand like it's his right. Touching her like he already knows how she breaks. And Amina? She's been holding everything together for so long that she doesn't know how to let go. Doesn't know how to want someone who actually stays. But Santiago? He stays. Through the attitude. The boundaries. The sparks that keep catching fire. And when he finally gets his hands on her? There's nothing soft about it. Now she's spiraling in his sheets, fighting him in front of her family, and falling harder than she ever meant to. Because Santiago doesn't just want to play daddy. He wants the whole damn family. And this time, he's not leaving until he has them.

He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out. You should put it on." ____________________________ She was a shy girl from the city with no spine and a list of problems so long that it could touch the floor and roll off her shoes. Though troublesome, she never truly minded because despite her fears, she was a smart little thing and worked around it. But like many of us, it kept her trapped in a tight little box. The fear of pain, insecurities, and endless thoughts held her back from the life she dreamt of. Until she met him. He was everything she could pray for and more. Tall, dark, handsome, intelligent, and caring. Perhaps she could peek out her little box.. just this once? __________ PLEASE STOP COPY PASTING MY BOOK!!!! If there wasn't anything she hated the most it was MEN. Sevyn Moore, 22, was the girl that had a huge hatred towards the other gender. She had her reasons why and she felt as though they were reasonable for a girl like her. Sevyn wasn't the type that fell for the filter men would put on before their true colors were shown. She didn't fall for the same three lines dudes would say to get in her pants nor the same repetitive and disrespectful gestures. She was all for actions, yes, but she knew how to differentiate between forced ones and the ones that came from the heart. Even sometimes the ones from the heart didn't feel real to her, but that was as close as she was going to get to a real man. She knew one day she wanted to get married and live a happy life Mr. Right. But, in a world where disrespecting black women for clout was a new trend, sneaky links existed, and being exclusive was always a problem to people, she preferred being single than dealing with a man-child. Or any man at that matter. But, that was easier said than done. In most cases she was ready to lay down with a man even if he was a walking red flag, but she controlled herself. That was until she met the man himself where the thought of doing bad felt so damn good. She was tempted, but wasn't easy. This is Temptation.
