Since people don't like to read tags I just wanna let yall know this is a DARK ROMANCE book.
As in a abusive , manipulative relationship.
...
Finally, he asked, "Why are you crying?"
Yara didn't lift her head right away. She was used to being ignored, not spoken to.
When she did answer, her voice was small. Almost a breath. "They forgot me again," she whispered.
"Who?"
"My parents. They were supposed to pick me up."
He blinked once. "So?"
She looked at him then, really looked. "They always forget."
Adonis didn't nod. Didn't frown. Just sat back on his heels. There was no sympathy in his face, but there was something else. Interest. Recognition.
He understood what it meant to be forgotten.
He stood up and looked down at her. "Do you want to disappear?"
The question hung in the air like a blade.
Yara didn't answer. She didn't know how. But the silence between them said enough.
Adonis nodded once. "Come on."
She hesitated.
And then, quietly, she got up and followed him into the woods-
not because she trusted him,
but because he was the first person who hadn't looked through her.
