Led by an ancient, sentient being who lies deep within the Mountain of the Ancestors, two tiny Sisters of Light re-Awaken their long-forgotten, maternal Legacy. Under the watchful tutelage of their Grandmother, the two not only rediscover their up-Mountain Paths, but their own, personal guardian--a Warrior from beyond the stars--who has returned after lifetimes of searching for his long-lost Sisters of Light. As the young Warrior begins to fulfill the ancient prophecies passed down in Legend, the fact that he is an Outsider upsets more than the taboo-obsessed traditions and the narrow-minded prejudices of the Elder Sisters of the Clan of the Mountain. As the reborn Warrior slowly rediscovers his long-forgotten skills, and his up-Mountain destiny increasingly becomes clear to all of his newfound friends, not only his own life, but the lives of all the re-Awakening children of Light are threatened by the minions of Darkness. If the Dark Ones make it to the Flatlands, and are not intercepted by the Guardians, with whom the Warrior-from-beyond-the-stars is now an apprentice--then both the reborn Warrior and all of the re-Awakened Little Ones may be slain in their sleep by the Demon-dogs that roam their Dreams.
