In this AU, Merlin has stumbled through the centuries alone, clinging desperately to the hope that, one day, the Once and Future King will rise again, when Albion needs him most. Which is all very well and good, except Merlin has been through personal hells, each one worse than the last, so he begins to dread the catastrophe that will finally reunite them. This is Merlin's third time being blind. The previous two were self-inflicted, because of the disguises they offered. No one bothers an old blind man during the Salem Witch Trials. No one suspects a little girl with lopsided pigtails during wartime. People are so tied up with their own issues that the ill-meaning ignored him and the kind offered him very little. But this time was different. There was another war, there were too many things happening at once, and there was a bomb. Merlin woke up to a black screen. He hasn't bothered to change it back. What's the point in seeing if the world's still dark?

Long Live The King! Arthur has fallen and Morgana is dead and so are Mordred in their attempt to take over Camelot. Arthur- the once and future king of Camelot, Merlin-a not so simple servant with two secrets. both hard for merlin to keep. one is his magic, and the other, is his feelings towards the king.

Five years had passed since Arthur had become King, and three since the magic ban had been repealed. Merlin had left Camelot soon after, convinced that his work here was done and he wasn't needed anymore, to live a life of solitude and mystery as Emrys. But when a ball is held at Camelot to celebrate the first steps to the forming of Albion, an invitation finds its way to Emrys, and with it, a way for Merlin to find closure. Would he leave everything be as he left it three years ago, or would he take the chance to move on with his life? When some of the new recruits notice the odd behavior of a certain servant towards their King and the other knights, they take measures in to their own hands to teach him a lesson. i wanted to write a modern merthur AU but im having writer's block but i really wanna fucking write so im just gonna make this up as i go along. have faith and check out my other stories as well.. update: as I am now 10 parts into the story I have decided what its about. Arthur is the son of one of the most wealthy men in the world. his father owns Pendragon Corp, and he is to get all of it when Uther dies. However, Uther gets a little mad when he discovers how his son feels about the physician-in-training, Merlin....
