Short Story written years ago for an Italian "spooky" creative writing contest. Translated to English by me but unedited. The contest rules were: - choose from an array of pre-made packages or "prompts": I chose WATER - each package will have a set of prompts and bonus points: I got MERMAID as the mysterious creature, a famous quote to elaborate on, and bonus for sad ending, and for using a port as scenery. I had the honour of last place :D behind much vaid and legit other stories. However I decided to keep this and maybe expand on it in the future. Enjoy!
