While preparing to find a suitable bride, Arthur discovers his feelings for Merlin run a bit deeper than what is considered usual. Uther discovers that his son has been spending far too much time with his manservant, and decides to put a stop to it. If only he knew the truth.

Merlin is tired of Arthur constantly torturing and using him. It's his turn.

One day, Arthur discovers that Merlin has gone missing after supposedly going on an errand for Gaius, and the young prince sets off to find him, not knowing that the events that come afterwards will change his life - forever. Disclaimer: this happens in a non-canon universe at around the start of season 2. None of the characters belong to me although the story itself is mine. Enjoy!!

But the pit is the least of their problems as they begin to realise they are caught up in something much worse, a game where angels are tested to their limits.
