Will has just barely started in Hawkins Private School for the Arts with a year scholarship due to his submission into the candidates for the Visual Arts department. On his first day, he can't help but be drawn to the band room from the music he hears in the halls. There, he meets an unexpected boy who was amazing at what he played. {BOOK 1} This takes place after season one and negates the mystery of wills possession and El coming back. It has been months since Will's return and Mike seems to be the only one who doesn't treat him like he's gonna break at any second. Will and Mike grow closer and romance ensues.
