In seinem Beruf als Lehrer hat Harry bereits einige Bücher gelesen, die ihn berührt haben. Trotz allem hat ihn nie ein Werk auf die gleiche Art und Weise gefesselt, wie ein Roman mit dem Titel 'Ephemeral' - doch der Autor des Buches bleibt ein Rätsel. Während der Bestseller die Welt im Sturm erobert, weiß niemand, wer es eigentlich geschrieben hat. Als Harry schließlich auf eine Fortbildung geschickt wird, ahnt er nicht, dass sein Leben eine unerwartete Wendung nehmen wird. Der Seminarleiter Louis ist nicht nur ein fesselnder Redner, sondern weckt auch seltsam vertraute Gefühle in Harry. Während die beiden Männer sich näher kennenlernen, beginnen sich die Puzzleteile langsam zusammenzufügen - nicht nur um ihre Gefühle zueinander, sondern auch auch um Louis' wahre Identität.

"So all of this is my fault?" He scowled back. "Harry, he is fragile. He can't bear up with your anger or try to break past your stone cold exterior if you don't let him." His father reasoned. With that Harry got up from his seat to leave only to see Louis near the door, he had no idea if he heard his conversation or he didn't and honestly at this point he didn't care. Louis is a twenty-one year old owner of a popular tea shop called 'Spot O' Tea'. Recently he notices a new customer with curly hair and green eyes, who comes in at the same time every night; 9pm. But that's not what worries Louis. What worries him is the bruises that scatter across his body, multiplying every day.
