Gon ran and ran... as far away from his home town as he could. He ran away from those hatred filled people, he didn't want to be next to die like his parents and caring Aunt Mito. He tripped onto the floor hearing the foot steps of the men who were after him, shouting, and cursing at him....... then silence and the splatter of blood hitting the floor. He looked up to a beautiful woman with a big frilly dress and black silky hair along with this gadget covering both of her eyes... "Hello...little one...."

The phantom troupe, the most dangouse group in the world was holding a young boy, Gon Freecss. He became troupe member 4 when he was 7 years old and has been training amongst them even before that. When Gon is 12, he takes the hunters exam and meets some friends along the way like Kurapika and Leoreo. And he also meets Killua. They are 'best friends' during the exam but do the two of them think of it as more than that? Or is it really much more?

When Gon moves to York New after a rough first year at Whale Island University, his Aunt Mito makes him move in with family friend, Kite. Gon meets two kind people, both of which he is interested in.
