As a newborn, Lincoln Loud was quietly placed into foster care. For the next ten years, he lived what he thought was a perfectly normal life-ordinary school days, ordinary friends, ordinary childhood. But everything changed the day a strange incident drew the attention of a powerful government group: The National Supers Agency.
Brought in for testing, Lincoln discovers the truth he never imagined-he isn't ordinary at all. Hidden deep inside him are unique powers and abilities that set him apart from everyone else. After a series of evaluations, the Agency makes a surprising decision: Lincoln will be placed with the Parr family, one of the last known superhero families still in hiding.
Now Lincoln finds himself living under the same roof as five extraordinary heroes: the strong and unshakable Mr. Incredible, the flexible and clever Elastigirl, the shy but powerful Violet, the reckless speedster Dash, and the unpredictable baby Jack-Jack. At first, he struggles to fit in, torn between being the "normal" kid he always thought he was and learning to control his newfound abilities.
In time, Lincoln uncovers the biggest revelation of all-his new foster parents, Bob and Helen Parr, aren't just ordinary guardians. They are two of the most famous superheroes of all time. With them comes one ironclad rule: never, under any circumstances, expose your powers in public or in general.
But rules are hard to follow when danger is looming. A new threat emerges, targeting the Parr family and anyone connected to them. For Lincoln, this becomes the ultimate test. He must decide whether to keep living as a normal boy or step into the role of a true hero.
As the Parrs prepare for the fight of their lives, Lincoln realizes that his place isn't defined by where he came from, but by the choices he makes now. Together with his new family, he'll have to rise to the challenge, protect the people he loves, and help save not only his family-but the entire world.
