He and his family now live with the Wheelers, because their home was destroyed at the same time Hawkins was torn into four. This means Will has to live under the same roof as his crush, aka Mike Wheeler. How will he manage living with his crush without Mike discovering the dangerous truth? Mike Wheeler is oblivious, loyal, and a strong leader. He is happy that Will now lives with him, so they can spend more time together. He would do anything for his friends. Will Mike ever notice the way Will really looks at him, the way he truly feels?

College was supposed to be a fresh start. The Party is scattered across nearby campuses, close enough to pretend nothing has changed. Will is finally happy or at least trying to be with his new boyfriend, Carlton. Mike tells himself he doesn't care. He tells himself a lot of things. Between shared houses, crowded college parties, and a friend group that never really learned how to separate, they keep falling into familiar patterns: late nights, quiet check-ins, and Mike noticing things he probably shouldn't anymore. Everything Mike thought he understood about himself starts to unravel. Some realizations come too late. Some feelings refuse to stay buried. And some feelings don't fade just because you pretend they have.

The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished - his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. A byler rewrite of season 5.
