Soul Society was ripped apart by the war with the Quincy. The war ends up having a profound effect on the children on both sides. The solution the adults come up with to help ease tensions between the children is to form a Shinigami's Kids Society. Disclaimer - I don't own Bleach. It is for l-20, which is to write over 100k for a multichapter or series over one NaNoWriMo and the month before/after. Story diverges from canon plot as of chapter 603. Finding Friendship has been in the plans for around four years. The story was always planned to be one of the AU routes I would take with Softly Snowing. Back then there were not nearly as many young characters in the series, but now there are more.

The war with the Quincy took away something precious, something that they didn't think they could replace. Replace though might not be the right word though, as the members of the Gotei Thirteen didn't think they would get this special treasure back. Hitsugaya Toshiro always believed that he wasn't born in Soul Society because of his memories. However, when a female around his age shows up claiming to have the same birthday as him, he finds his world turned upside down. He also finds himself on the run with her as he is not sure how Soul Society will react to finding out their unique bloodline. Disclaimer - I don't own Bleach. Toshiro can't shake the thoughts of himself being dead from his head despite the fact the many people who care about him managed to bring him back from his zombified state. Rangiku having remembered something important during the war has to watch the former child taicho and try to prevent his self destructive tendencies that are the result of the trauma he has undergone. The falling of the snow is peaceful, but the war the Quincy and Shinigami finished fighting was not. Toshiro's left emotionally broken while his fukutaicho Rangiku refuses to wake from her coma. Isane's dealing with a major loss to her division, and Bazz-B's figuring out what it means for the Shinigami and Quincy to live side by side with each other despite the differences the two sides have long held. Death meant ties were broken, but new times can be created, and lost ones found. Disclaimer - I don't own Bleach. Note - Tite Kubo said all blood relations would be revealed by the time Bleach finished, and I had fun guessing the hidden family ties. The non-canon family ties are based off these guesses.
